New Pilot: Blaine Transue

Congratulations to Blaine Transue! Blaine passed his checkride earlier this month to become a Private Pilot. Blaine has been a fixture here in the office, flying three or four times a week, and even designed our new logo! As the first student to complete our new 3-Stage Private Pilot course (and unofficial syllabus guinea pig), we are especially happy to report his success.

Congratulations to David Perry on earning his Private Pilot Certificate. David came to us with some flying under his belt, and we’ve been pleased to help him finish up. David’s son Noel also flies with us, and now they can do more flying together!

Family Fun Day

We had the weather on our side at this year’s Family Fun Day at Skypark. The skies cleared, the sun came out, and everyone had a great time. The local pilot turned up with an amazing variety of vintage and modern planes, as well as some very cool vintage cars. Carneros Aviation gave some of our neighbors their first airplane rides, and they all landed with big smiles. If you didn’t make it this year, watch out for next year’s date!

2012 Summer Hootenanny

Grab your friends and come on down for the biggest event yet at your favorite flight school, Carneros Aviation. We’re celebrating a summer of flying, and Travis’ 24th Birthday. We’ll have live music, airplane antics, food for sale by Tacos Primavera.

Music and food start at 6:00 pm, and the fun will last into the night. All ages welcome, bring your friends and family and help us celebrate another great summer.

4th of July Parade

Sonoma’s traditional 4th of July parade will be even better this year, because we’ll be in it! Come down to the square and cheer for our float. You can’t miss it, just look for the plane!

Our Newest Pilot

Congratulations to Edward Harrison, who passed his checkride this morning! His examiner was particularly impressed with his landings, which Edward attributes to Skypark’s famously quirky runway. Edward has been flying with us since last fall, and plans to earn his instrument rating in the near future.
